The Shakedown Gallery is pleased to announce the release of five Chuck Sperry blotter art prints, including the four piece "I'd Love To Turn You On" Beatle Blotter Set.

Prints will be released at the "Don't Panic" Open House in Oakland, California.

Friday, July 15, 2016
12 noon to 6 pm

Hangar 18
1428 34th Street (at Hollis)
Oakland, CA

People will receive random numbers at the door at 11 am, so overnight camping is not encouraged.

We will also be curating a special blotter art exhibit that will be partially historical retrospective and partially focused on new artist release editions.

The Open House will also feature the release of “The Outlaw Bible of American Art”. Edited by Alan Kaufman, this new anthology of art documents movements from the Post-war to the present, and includes an 8 page profile of Chuck Sperry's work.

The book promises to be a comprehensive overview of the outlaw tradition in American art and includes: Gertrude Stein, Tom Wolfe, Carlo McCormick, Annie Sprinkle, John Yau, my former teacher Allen Ginsberg, Robert Crumb, Joe Coleman and hundreds more, including the Godfather of Blotter Art, Mark McCloud.

See you there!
